How to Use the Calculator

This tool helps you divide a bill among group members while accounting for individual contributions, including taxes and tips. It ensures a fair distribution, indicating how much each person owes or should be reimbursed based on their contribution and the total bill.

Example

Suppose you have a total bill of $480, a tax percentage of 10%, and a tip percentage of 15%. There are 4 contributors with the following contributions:

Contributions: 200, 100, 80, 100.

The tool calculates that the total bill, including tax and tip, is $480 + 10% tax ($48) + 15% tip ($72) = $600. Each person’s share of the final bill is $150. Therefore:

• Contributor 1 should be reimbursed $50.
• Contributor 2 owes $50.
• Contributor 3 owes $70.
• Contributor 4 owes $50.
